Current Fascination: Dug Holes, Bottomless Pits and Vortexes:
As a metaphor for our time and global cultural obsession with going further, deeper, and often being mindlessly driven to the next level, this series and limited edition is an experiment using an Artificial Intelligence Art Generator and exploring its continued ability to iterate generation after generation of progressive images. The initial prompted pictures consisted of photorealistic bottomless pits deep in a gloomy forest at twilight. With further prompts to self-iterate, those images eventually morphed into minimal spiral vortexes.
To contextualize time progression and history, Vintage IBM Mainframe computer cards were sourced which were in use from the late 1940s through the mid 1970's. Laminated together they created the substrate background. The AI images were then manipulated by the artist and after file preparation, these images were printed overlaying the vintage background.
